“If we can make more space around our tables, we can be blessing for many people.”

Vijay

Our cities are full of people from other faith backgrounds – and many are carrying deep questions, assumptions and fears about Christianity. In this episode, Jason Roach speaks with Rani (Evangelical Alliance) and Vijay (LCM mission catalyst) about how friendship, hospitality and long-term relationship can help people encounter Jesus in a way that feels genuine and loving.

Drawing on their own South Asian and Hindu backgrounds, they explore why trust can take time, how faith and culture are often deeply intertwined, and why following Jesus can feel like a costly step for many people. They share stories of patient friendship, church community and welcome around the table, and the joy of seeing lives transformed by Christ.

Their conversation encourages Christians to move beyond one-off interactions and embrace a lifestyle of intentional friendship. By listening well, creating space around our tables and sharing our lives as well as the gospel, we can help people encounter the love of Christ in a tangible way.

“Friendship is about patience. Love is patient, love is kind. We have to understand the character of God and build friendship with people.”

– Rani
