How can Christians share Jesus with people from different cultures, classes and religious backgrounds, without asking them to leave behind who they are? In this episode, Jason Roach speaks with Natalie Williams from Jubilee+ and Kumar Rajagopalan from Totteridge Road Baptist Church about what it means to share faith across cultural divides with humility, honesty and love.
Drawing on their own stories, Natalie and Kumar reflect on the barriers Christians can unintentionally create – through jargon, assumptions, class expectations, or by treating people as projects rather than friends. They explore how stepping into other people’s spaces, listening well, honouring family and community, and sharing our own everyday walk with Jesus can open doors for deeper conversations.
Rather than extracting people from their communities, this conversation invites us to love people well, honour their backgrounds, and walk alongside them with patience, courage and prayer.
As one of this season’s conversations for everyday Christians, this episode reminds us that sharing Jesus across cultural divides begins with seeing people as people – and sharing not just words, but our lives.
“The onus should be on me to be the one who’s uncomfortable… not on them.”
