Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees governs London City Mission and establishes the overall strategy and policy.

They advise and support Chief Executive Graham Miller in implementing the vision, determine matters of principle, and deal with budgeting and other financial matters.

Richard Montgomery

Chairman

Richard Montgomery joined the board in 2018 and worked for more than thirty years in senior positions in the oil industry. He is the former Managing Director of the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity, is a trustee of CPAS and also chairs a UK grant making charity that supports the poor and vulnerable. His wife works for their church, St Stephen’s, in Twickenham where they live and worship, and they have three adult sons who are sometimes around. Richard is a keen cyclist and some would say also spends too much time watching it on television.

Graham Miller

Chief Executive

Graham, our Chief Executive, joined the Mission in 2014 after close to a decade in China as a missionary. His background is as Finance Manager for two large corporations and as an International Student Worker for Dundonald. He attends St Andrew’s Anglican Church, Chelsea with his wife Alison and their two young children.

Richard Bulmer

Trustee

Richard joined the board in 2015, and is currently employed as an actuary.

He’s married to Kay, and they live in Ashtead, Surrey, where they attend Chessington Evangelical Church.

They have one grown-up son.

Andrew Burkinshaw

Trustee

Andrew, with us since 2015, is the Assistant Head of his local Church of England primary school, and has a background of ten years working in politics.

He lives in New Malden, and attends New Malden Baptist Church with his wife, Ruth. Their two children keep them busy and entertained!

Mosun Dorgu

Trustee

Mosun joined the board in 2008. She is a qualified medical doctor. She works as a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in the NHS.

She is also involved in children and youth ministry, and mentors young adults. She has a son and daughter-in-law.

Bryan Duncan

Trustee

Bryan is one of our more recent trustees, appointed at the beginning of 2018. He has a background in real estate and business leadership. He also has experience of charity boards, and serves as an elder of the Tron Church in Glasgow - where he and his wife, Kate attend. They have two married daughters, living in Kent and east London respectively, and two granddaughters.

Roger Evans

Trustee

Roger has been a trustee since 2013. He is chair of the LCM Property Sub-Committee and a member of the Finance Sub-Committee. Now semi-retired, he was a Chief Executive in the NHS for 13 years and held senior positions in the Dept of Health. His work is now mainly with health-related charities. Roger is a member of Emmanuel Church, Wimbledon. He has a grown-up son and daughter, and six young grandsons.

Richard Godden

Trustee

Richard joined the board in 1998 and acts as Chair of the Finance Subcommittee. As a corporate London lawyer, he brings much legal wisdom to the table.

He attends St John’s Blackheath, an Anglican church near where he and Joanna, his wife, live.

They have three grown-up children.

Anne Hudson

Trustee

Anne is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and has over 25 years’ experience in HR and Workforce Development. Much of her career has been in Education and the Public Sector and she is currently HR Director for a Multi-Academy Trust. Anne and her husband Graham, worship at St Peter’s Church in Farnborough in Hampshire where Graham is also a Church Warden. They have two adult sons, who are both married, and three lively grandchildren. Anne enjoys gardening, walking and reading in her spare time.

Ian Nash

Trustee

Ian, trustee since 1992, has a background as a Company Secretary. He's served on many boards and committees as Chair and Deputy Chair, and is co-leader of the Grace Church plant. He’s also Church Warden of St Nicholas, Sevenoaks, and has led small groups for many years. He attends St Nicholas with his wife, Hilary.

Nigel Parrington

Trustee

Nigel Parrington has worked in social housing since 1975 and joined the LCM board in 2016. Shaped by his father’s example as an LCM missionary through the slum clearance era of the 1960s, he’s now the Chief Executive of the Salvation Army Housing Association, which provides for over 5000 rough sleepers and young homeless people each year.

As well as being a deacon in Bessels Green Baptist Church, he is married to Denise and has a son, two daughters, a granddaughter, two dogs and a motorbike!

Marcia Shields

Trustee

Marcia, a family lawyer who specialises in representing children in care, joined the board in 2015. For the past nine years she has volunteered as Chaplain at Holloway Prison, and has many years of experience working with Teen Challenge amongst those struggling with drug and alcohol addictions. She lives in east London and attends Shoreline Calvary North London. She has two grown-up children; a son and daughter.
