Kenny’s story: One doorstep. A whole family transformed.
“I’m listening to a new song. And it’s a really good song.” - Kenny
Kenny worships with his family almost every week at Rye Lane Chapel in Peckham. He’s full of joy, full of faith - and full of stories about how Jesus has changed his life.
But just a year ago, Kenny wasn’t even thinking about church. His journey began with a knock at someone else’s door.
It started with Ruby.
LCM missionary Michael and church member Winston were out visiting homes in Peckham when they met Ruby. She was open, curious, and full of questions. After a long doorstep conversation about faith, they invited her to church.
Ruby came - and brought her best friend, Georgina. A few weeks later, both women gave their lives to Jesus.
The gospel kept going
Georgina joined a training course run by Michael and began sharing her faith with her family. Her boldness inspired her dad, Kenny, to come to church. He was moved by what he saw - and soon committed his life to Christ.
Then Kenny’s son Brandon came. Then Brandon’s partner Annalisa. One by one, they were baptised.
“We’ve seen more than 30 people come to faith and be baptised in recent months,” says Pastor Phil of Rye Lane Chapel. “It’s the Spirit of God at work - and it started with one conversation.”
