Haleh

Missionary in North Kensington

"I found freedom in Christ, and love to share Jesus with people from a Muslim background so they too may find freedom, just like I did."

Haleh* grew up in a Muslim family in the Middle East. When she moved to the UK she began studying at college, but went through a period of feeling lost and looking for answers that her family’s faith was unable to answer.

During her time there, she met some Christian friends who faithfully prayed for her and shared the hope of Jesus in a way that resonated with her. Haleh decided to become a Christian, and Jesus brought light and hope into her life.

"I found freedom in Christ, and love to share Jesus with people from a Muslim background so they too may find freedom, just like I did."

Haleh now works as a Missionary in west London focusing on reaching out to Muslims and people from other religions with the love of God and the good news of Jesus Christ. She is seeking to equip and inspire everyday Christians in local churches to lovingly bring a message of hope in Christ to those least likely to hear it.

“The communities in Kensington and the surrounding areas are very multicultural, with many Muslims that live here. We encounter many different languages, which just shows how many nations that God has brought here that need to hear the saving message of Jesus.”

"As it says in Romans 10:14-15, how can people believe in Jesus unless they have heard about him, and how can they hear unless someone tells them? My prayer is that God would reveal himself to the people here in a very real and personal way. It’s such a privilege to support churches as they share the gospel with those who have never heard before."

Outside of work, Haleh enjoys cooking, and reading books.
