Sister Basma

Missionary in Kensington, Chelsea, Westminster & South Brent

"We have a unique opportunity in London to see the gospel thrive among Muslim communities"

Sister Basma* grew up in a Christian home but always wondered, “What about those who have not had the opportunity to know Jesus?”

Sister Basma is passionate about sharing Jesus with people from a Muslim background who are unlikely to hear the gospel. Globally, most Muslims have yet to hear the good news, and an estimated 50% of Muslims worldwide are under the age of 18.

“Equipping younger generation Christians to share the love and gospel of Jesus with Muslim young people is an important aspect of the Great Commission!”

Sister Basma thought her burden to reach the nations with the gospel would take her across the globe. However, her heart for her Muslim neighbours has, in fact, led her to London.

Sister Basma works in West London, helping churches reach out to people of other religions with the love of God and the good news of Jesus Christ.

“God, in his sovereignty, has brought many Muslims here to London. Some cross the sea, but we can all cross the street to meet and share the gospel with our Muslim neighbours who seek God but have not yet found Jesus. We have a unique opportunity in London to see the gospel thrive among Muslim communities and for many to find salvation and freedom in Christ!”

“In West London, there are people from many different nations who have never heard the gospel. What a privilege it is to introduce people to Jesus and invite them to follow Him. What a joy it is to come alongside churches to help them share Jesus with the nations here on our doorstep in London!”

Sister Basma was raised in Devon. She has a lovely husband and enjoys musical theatre, hiking, football and travel.
