Tim Fielder

Team Leader in Lewisham

"I long to see the love of Jesus transform the lives of those who are forgotten..."

Lewisham is home to the top 20% most deprived in England.

It has amongst the highest levels of child poverty in the country as well as one of the highest proportions of working age residents on out-of-work benefits.

Tim longs to see the love of Jesus impact the lives of those who have been marginalised, forgotten and broken, to see them flourish as they find out who they are in Christ, enter into his family and become his disciples.

Lewisham is a very ethnically diverse borough. Tim spent 10 years in a Latin American church and is excited to see the potential and power of the diaspora churches let loose as they lead the charge of evangelism in the city for the coming generations.

Tim and the Lewisham team envision and equip churches to bring the good news of Jesus to those least likely to hear about him through the Missionary Jesus course (a five week missions course), ‘Body and Soul Fitness’ (fitness sessions followed by bible studies for unchurched people) and ‘Worship Academy’ (a music outreach program with a bible talk), amongst other things.

Tim grew up as a pastor’s son in Wales. He still loves the church and is convinced it is God's vehicle to bring hope to the world. He is hungry to see the church be all that it is called to be: salt and light, and 'a city on a hill'. Tim’s vison is to see people from near and far coming to Jesus' feet, finding salvation, wholeness, a home, and then going back out into their context to bring more worshippers for God's glory.
