Serene Ellis

Getting to share the Good News with others is a privilege

Serene experienced her childhood living in Pakistan where her parents were missionaries. This instilled within her a strong Christian faith and trust in God. She went to University in Southampton and grew in her desire to share her faith with others...

She then joined London City Mission in 2024 to work as a support worker (mission associate) within the homeless and marginalised team.

“Getting to share the Good News with others is a privilege, something I want to be intentional about more and more. I was so excited after the first time I got to pray with someone and lead them to faith.”

In London the number of rough sleepers has doubled over the past decade, with an average age of death at just 45 years old, with many from suicide. The practical help and genuine care that Serene provides, is essential in creating an environment where healing and restoration of the whole person can take place. Guests receive the life-changing news of Jesus Christ, and practical help in taking steps out of homelessness, and into a life filled with hope.

“My hope is that everyone is able to realise and know their true identity, value and purpose in who God says they are, especially those who are more vulnerable and marginalised”

Serene has just moved to London and loves to get a coffee and go on walks in her spare time.
