Rebecca was brought up in a lively church in Scunthorpe and became a Christian as a child after hearing the gospel from both her church and parents. She joined LCM in 2025 to be part of the Prisons and Resettlement team after volunteering with the prison chaplaincy for two years.
“Our God brings life and freedom and I long to see all those in prison free by the power of his Spirit and enter a deep relationship with Jesus that changes their life trajectory and the lives of those around them.”
Rebecca is part of a team from LCM that go into prisons alongside church volunteers, meeting inmates, building meaningful relationships with them and sharing the message of hope in Jesus. This involves leading courses which gives them a chance to find out more about Jesus, often for the first time. This can then lead to opportunities to read the bible and pray with them. The team also support the men as they leave prison and help to connect them with local churches who can welcome, support and disciple them.
Many of the men that Rebecca and the team support have faced significant life challenges and come from complex backgrounds. Rebecca shares, “many are inclined to self-sabotage. They often have a deep hunger for something more.” It’s Rebecca’s heart to meet that hunger with the truth of the gospel.
“My vision is to see these men have their hopes and lives restored and to go on to impact their own communities with the love and truth of the gospel. I can see these men being future leaders and I think many churches can learn and grow from ex-prisoners being part of their community.”
Rebecca loves to play netball, drink coffee and sing loudly to Taylor Swift.
