Maegan Webb

Mission Associate in Camden and Islington

"I want those who are living in darkness to be brought into the glorious light"

Jesus saved me from a life devoted to witchcraft and the occult.”

Maegan grew up in a household that was bound by superstition and held a keen interest in spiritualism. By her 20s, Maegan was fully emersed in the New Age and practised divination, communicating with spirits daily.

“Life was chaotic and I craved peace and an insight into what the future might hold.”

In her early 30s Maegan was invited to church by her parents. They had been introduced to Jesus by a family member who had come to know Jesus through prison ministry. After resisting their invitations for over a year, she finally accepted in the hope that one visit would be enough to stop them asking. Although she did not have an instantaneous encounter with Jesus on her first visit, she did encounter a loving community of believers. This, along with the message of hope that she heard, drew her back. When her Dad gave her a Bible a few weeks later, she read it from cover to cover and felt God speak to her through every page.

“I was convicted of my sin as I recognised that the spiritual practices that I was engaged in were wrong. When I read in Acts 19:19 that “a number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly”, I knew that I had to destroy everything that I had used in these practices and declare that Jesus is my Lord.”

"I want those who are living in darkness to be brought into the glorious light, so that they can experience the peace and joy that only comes from knowing Jesus and the freedom and eternal hope that is found in his salvation. I am passionate about reaching the least reached communities in London, particularly those who are seeking spiritual fulfilment in all the wrong places.”

Maegan now works as a Mission Associate in Islington and Camden, with a focus on council Estates and Seniors.

“Islington is a borough of two halves –those who know great affluence and those who struggle financially, each living side by side. There is much brokenness, and many who do not know Jesus or the power of his salvation.”

"I would love to see Jesus glorified on council estates, and to see more local churches impacting their communities with the gospel, sharing Jesus with those who might not otherwise get to hear.”

Maegan loves to spend quality time with her family and friends over a meal. She also enjoys reading, spending time in nature, and finding out about the past by visiting historical sites and museums.
