Johanna Briscoe

Missionary in Haringey

my prayer is that...the love of Jesus Christ would birth transformation in the borough

Johanna became a Christian following a period of severe illness and discovered a strong zeal for evangelism from very early on in her walk with Christ.

“I had a burning desire to tell everyone I could about the Lord Jesus, so I began doing regular prayer-walking in my local area. This quickly progressed to meeting people on their doorsteps on council estates to share my faith...”

Alongside her personal evangelism, Johanna worked as the Executive Assistant to the Director of Ministries at LCM for one year before she made the transition to serve as a full-time missionary in the borough of Haringey.

“I’ve always had a passion to share my faith with others. The harvest is plentiful, and I wanted to reach the whole world.”

Johanna works alongside churches to support and equip everyday Christians to confidently share their faith with those unlikely to hear the gospel. Much of her work involves reaching people on local council estates and those who are elderly, by bringing the church to them and serving them where they are. She does this by going out with churches to meet people on their doorsteps as well as on the local high street building connections and finding opportunities to share Jesus.

There are over 180 languages spoken Haringey, and there’s a great opportunity to partner especially with churches from some of these diverse communities. Haringey has also been classified as among one of the most deprived boroughs in the country.

“By coming alongside churches to encourage and equip local congregations, my prayer is that people will be saved, and the love of Jesus Christ would birth transformation in the borough and help meet the practical and spiritual needs of many.”

Johanna lives in north London and enjoys travelling and exploring different countries and cultures.
