Charlie Macdonald

Team Leader for Pan London Schools Team

"I know God wants to meet with young people because of my personal experience..."

Charlie first met with Jesus when she was just seven years old. Beginning her Christian journey at such an early age has formed the foundation of Charlie’s heart for mission.

She explains, "I know God wants to meet with young people because of my personal experience. One of my favourite stories in the Bible is Mark 10v13-16, when Jesus becomes angry because his disciples wrongly presume he is too busy or important to meet with children. Jesus still wants to meet with children today!"

Charlie moved to London in 1999 and has been working with unchurched children in the heart of the East End ever since. She passionately believes the gospel is relevant and life-changing for all ages.

Charlie leads the Pan London Schools Team encouraging, supporting and equipping churches across London to love their local school communities.

She continues, "The one million young people in London belong to a post-Christian generation. The 3000 schools in our capital are important local community hubs, full of young people who do not know there is a God or who Jesus is."

The Schools Team are partnering with London churches to ensure a Christian witness in every London school, and that every school is connected to their local church.

Charlie lives in Bethnal Green with her husband, four amazing children, and a pet dog, rabbit, tortoise and mouse. She loves running and can’t resist an East London bagel!
