He gave us you

From everyone at London City Mission, we wanted to let you know our appreciation for all that you have done this year, playing your part in God building his church in London!

FEATURING...

Find out more about who features in our thank you film, and see how you can get involved in 2024!

The prayer warriors

This year, like every year, we have been upheld by the faithful prayers of Christians across the UK and beyond. And we have seen God's faithfulness in answering these prayers.

We believe God loves for us to ask boldly for his Kingdom to grow. And we believe he loves to answer our prayers! So, please join us in praying for London. There are lots of ways you can do this.

Tim and Naz

“I was an atheist. I didn’t believe in God at all," explains Naz.

Naz was invited to Body and Soul, a fitness progarmme for men, which LCM Missionary Team Leader Tim Fielder had supported a local church to set up. Tim and Naz got chatting during one session.

“We started chatting, and I think it got to a point where he asked if I thought I was going to heaven. And I answered no,” says Naz.

The volunteers

George and Susan are long-time supporters of LCM and give their time each week to join the Supporter Partnerships team at LCM's head offices - providing critical help in corresponding with the mission's other supporters.

God has given each of us unique skills, passions, and experiences – all of which can be used to expand God’s kingdom. LCM's is currently recruiting for a range of volunteer roles in 2024.

The walkers

Each year, hundreds of men, women and children take to the streets of London for LCM's Big Walk, raising vital funds for gospel outreach in the capital.

On the 13 mile route, walkers get to see first hand the neighbourhoods where God is at work and meet the missionaries who are sharing the gospel alongside churches.

The sleepers

LCM's Big Winter Sleepout is an opportunity to get just a glimpse of what so many men and women experience on the streets of London every night.

It's a chance to join together with Christians from all over in praise, worship and fellowship - while raising vital funds for LCM's Webber Street Day Centre for people who are homeless.

This year's event is on 24 February and hosted at Webber Street - and it's not too late to book yourself a spot for you and your church.

The catalysts

Featured in the video is Richrd Bray from St. Anne's Church in Limehouse, east London. He's one of hundreds of LCM church reps across the country.

Church reps play a vital role in connecting their church with God’s mission to reach people with the good news of Jesus.

Their impact is powerful – getting your church inspired about what God is doing in London, and helping them get equipped and trained to reach people with the gospel themselves.

The everyday evangelists

This year we launched Everyday Evangelism - our new set of resourcess for everyday Christians, to equip them in sharing their faith with confidence.

Thousands of people have listened and watched our Everyday Evangelism podcast, featuring insights from our missionaries and other special guests.

The online pray-ers

Every Tuesday night, Christians from across the UK and beyond, join together online to meet and pray for one of LCM's missionaries.

The sessions, hosted via Zoom, last for an hour and involve an update from the missionary about the work which God has been doing through their ministry, before breaking into groups to pray together.

The workers

Sister Inez, from Stockwell Baptist Church is one of hundreds of Christians across London who have been stepping out into their local neighbourhoods, alongside missionaries, to share the hope of Jesus.

The givers

This year we celebrated Evelyn Gubbins' 100th birthday. She has been supporting London City Mission for almost 90 years. Her amazing story is hugely inspiring.

LCM is reliant on the gifts of Evelyn and other Christians who partner with us in the gospel.

Anderley

One of the people your support has helped this year has been Anderley, who has featured in our Christmas Appeal.

Anderley was sleeping in a pile of rubbish on the cold streets after losing years of his life to drug addiction, and his situation seemed hopeless. But his life now, by comparison, is unrecognisable.

Hear his full story and find out how you can make a huge difference through your donation.
