Zion's Story
Zion had been coming to Stockwell Baptist Church for nearly a decade. He had big questions - about sin, grace, forgiveness - but few places to ask them.
Then he came on an LCM LiNKUPs camp. Away from the pressures of London, surrounded by friends, hearing the Bible taught clearly, something shifted. "The teaching on forgiveness, the cross, grace… it made sense," he says. "When my questions were answered, I had no reason not to follow Jesus."
By the end of the week, Zion had decided to be baptised. A few weeks later, he stood at the front of his church and shared his testimony. Six young people from Stockwell Baptist were baptised that summer.
Zion's story isn't unusual. But without a church alongside him, it might never have happened.
London's young people are searching. But most have no one to point them to Jesus.
Around half of young people in London don't have a single Christian friend. They're searching for hope and purpose in a volatile world, but without a connection to a church, many look for answers in the wrong places.
And yet 80% of young people say they'd be open to a friend talking to them about faith.
The question isn't whether they're open. It's whether someone will come alongside them and show them Jesus.
