London City Mission serves the Church of London in sharing the love of God and the good news of Jesus Christ with the least reached of London

One in three people don’t have a Christian friend to invite them to Church, open a Bible with them, or tell them the good news of Jesus. LCM want to see that change. The world has come to London – they long to see the gospel taken to the world by working alongside Churches to visit homes and go out into the streets of London with the good news of the gospel.

The HR Ministry Partner will play a key role in providing an operational HR service to all levels of LCM employees. It’s a crucial and exciting time in the history and further development of London City Mission, and through this role the successful candidate will play a valuable supporting role in making a difference in London for the salvation of souls and to the glory of God.

Purpose

The purpose of the HR Ministry Partner is:

  • To provide an operational HR service to defined functions of LCM, to all levels of LCM staff, including Directors, in line with our values
  • To own and lead specific HR projects to improve HR processes and policies
  • To be the HR team’s expert on best practice for defined HR processes and policies
  • To support the Head of HR in the development, delivery and evaluation of annual operational HR plans and goals in support of LCM’s annual plans and LCM’s values.
  • To direct, lead, develop and inspire an HR Officer

Specialist Competencies (full job description attached)

  • Degree qualification in a relevant subject
  • CIPD qualified to Member level, or equivalent
  • Experience in an HR department
  • Experience of advising managers and staff on full range of HR related issues including recruitment and selection, staff appraisals, employee relations issues, training and development, well being and safeguarding
  • Experience of review, design and delivery of HR policies and projects with positive outcomes.
  • Experience of working with HR Information Systems
  • Management of third parties
  • Competent and confidence in use of Microsoft applications including Word, Powerpoint and Excel and Teams

Salary Range  

£38,577 per annum + 11.5% Company Pension Contribution

Location

Based at their London Office at 175 Tower Bridge Road, with flexible and working from home options - temporarily working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic

Genuine Occupational Requirement

Due to the nature of this role, there is a genuine occupational requirement of the successful candidate having an active evangelical Christian faith and commitment to the vision of London City Mission
