Please Pray

'Pray for us ... that God may open a door for our message, so that
we may proclaim the mystery of Christ.' (Colossians 4:3)

Thank you for your prayers on our behalf. We feel the benefit of that unseen company of God's people who help us by prayer:  We depend upon it. Pray that many in this needy city will be born again and shine as lights in a dark place.

Prayer Update 28 July 2010175th Emblem Web Thumb

Welcome to this week’s update line, brought to you by Andrew Down on Wednesday 28 July.

Harish Patel gives thanks for the prayer raised through this LCM Prayer Line and says,

“We really sensed the Lord’s help in all our activities. The team of 27 from the USA partnered alongside the 10 or so of us from the Masih Ghar church plant team to pray, witness, worship and learn about God’s mission in the world. Our focus was the work amongst Hindu, Sikh and Muslim communities in west and north west London – Hounslow and Southall / Harrow and Wembley.

“There were lots of conversations at the book tables, and DVDs and gospels were given out. Please would you pray for Par – a Sikh young man, who took a copy of John’s gospel and wants to learn further. Pray also for Vin, a Christian from a local business who wants help in reaching his colleagues.

“We also prayed for the communities in our prayer walks and long to see breakthroughs. Praise God for the continued open doors for the gospel.

“One evening we went door-to-door visiting, introducing the Church, and seeing if they had any prayer needs. Many of the team were able to relate first-hand their testimonies to the folk they met. They were certainly strengthened in their walk and witness for the Lord. Above all we believe that our Lord Jesus touched all, and impressed the need for prayerful witness together for His kingdom in this very needy area. We continue to water the seeds sown, that the Lord would bring in a harvest! Thank you for your partnership in the work here.”

The Capital Kids team comprising full-time missionary staff and volunteers have now all settled in and following some team-building will be leaving their base on Wednesday morning to set up for the first Fun Day on Thursday at a church in Wimbledon. They will be holding Fun Days in a number of churches around London, so would greatly value your prayers. Please pray for good numbers of children to attend, and that God would speak into the hearts of these youngsters amid the fun and games and through the Christian message presented. Pray especially for Phil Moore, LCM’s Youth and Programmes Manager, as he leads the team.

The Tell-A-Tourist team is also out and about on the streets of London this week, sharing the gospel with overseas visitors. Please continue to pray for them during what can be a tiring programme.

Bill Deane is involved every morning this week in an inter-church holiday club in Harlesden. Three churches are working together to put this on so please would you pray that the local community would see the unity of the churches. Pray too for many children to come along, and that they might understand the good news of Jesus in a new and special way.

Hazel Chubb, wife of retired missionary Ted, has asked for prayer for Ted who is seriously ill. Ted recently received confirmation that he has cancer of the spine and liver. Please pray for both Ted and Hazel in these difficult days. Pray that they might know the Lord’s very close presence in every moment.

Thank you for praying with us, and may God bless you in your own work and service for Him.
