Extract from the LCM Constitution of 1835:
"As the object of the Mission is to extend the knowledge of the Gospel, it is a fundamental law that the following doctrines be prominently taught by the Agents and publications of the Mission. They are given"not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches".
"All have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was
God. And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us."
"Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
"The blood of Jesus Christ, God's Son, cleanses us from all sin."
"Being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
"Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is no other name under heaven
given among men, whereby we must be saved."
"Without holiness no man shall see the Lord."
"You are sanctified ... by the Spirit of God." |
