Gifts in Memory

The reasons why the Mission receives gifts in memory vary enormously. One thing remains constant - each one gives us great encouragement and is much appreciated.

We received gifts recently in memory of a very long and fulfilled marriage. Truly, the Gospel comes into its own at these times of human parting with the assurance we shall meet again in heaven and forever be with the Lord. What a comfort this is to us who are in Christ.

Gifts often come because of a long association with the Mission’s work. A lady remembered being helped by a missionary as a child so left instructions that gifts should be given in lieu of flowers at her thanksgiving service. Another lady from Tiverton died recently aged 102. She was remembered as the oldest supporter of the London City Mission in Tiverton by all who knew her.

Anniversaries of births, deaths and marriages, and many other things beside, all provide opportunities for gifts in memory; some people find it a lovely tribute to send us gifts regularly on each anniversary.

Gifts in memory will always be gratefully received. Could you look out for opportunities to recommend gifts in memory to others?

The Mission has leaflets available explaining our work which can be handed out at services or sent with invitations to family and friends. Contact Roy Jarvis, Supporter Relations Manager, on
