Following the successful ‘URBANplant-Life’ Conference on November 18th, a series of consultations will take place for church-planters, designed to learn, share experience, wisdom and skills. Sessions will be led by a variety of speakers with experience in church planting in an urban setting including Tim Keller.
What happens at the Urban Plant Life consultations? The following links gives you the consultation syllabus. Most sessions will be introduced by contributors from different church backgrounds before a question and answer session and discussion amongst those whom attend. In other words these will be genuine consultations where difficult questions will be addressed and where we can learn from each other.

Urbanplant-life has two aims...
- To learn from Tim Keller and the Redeeemer Church Planting Centre in Manhattan about urban church planting
- To learn from a variety of church planting ministries in London and the UK to encourage more urban church planting
Urbanplant-life is about...
URBAN: Britain, Europe and the world are increasingly dominated by urban life. Christians face the challenge of making disciples for Christ in cities where countless secular and religious idols are worshipped. We have much to learn about church planting in urban contexts.
PLANT: Church-planting is one of the most significant ways in which God’s gospel and kingdom are being advanced today. More and more churches, networks and mission agencies are planting churches in London and other cities around the UK. Yet most people in Britain know little of Christ and many communities remain unreached by the gospel. There is much church-planting to be done.
LIFE: Church-planting is not a technique but an aspect of Spirit-empowered gospel ministry. There is a variety to God’s work, that crosses cultural, ethnic, and traditional boundaries. We want to rejoice in what God is doing through each other’s ministries and in the light of Scripture, to reflect and to pray together. Through church planting God is giving his life to the dead.

The ‘URBANplant-Life’ Conference on November 18th is going to be followed by a series of Consultations for church-planters, designed to learn, share experience, wisdom and skills. Sessions will be led by a variety of speakers with experience in church planting in an urban setting including Tim Keller.
The dates are as follows:
- Tuesday, 27th January
- Tuesday, 24th February
- Tuesday, 17th March
- Thursday, 16th April
- Tuesday, 12th May
These will all be held at the London City Mission, 175 Tower Bridge Road, London SE1 2AH, and will run from 9.30am till 4pm.
